Tescos and the Homeless
Hi everyone!
I've been reading about Tesco providing work &
housing for Polish people and was thinking "What about our own homeless?". It's good to see someone else agrees.
Have a look at this:
BBC NEWS - UK Firms 'should hire more homeless'
a comment:
It's often very difficult for the homeless to feel
comfortable 'risking' a long term strategy for
themselves - difficulties seem so immediate and all
pervasive. Vocational training can give real hope,
particularly when allied with experience 'on the job'.
Whether this aspect of the training is paid or unpaid
is of less relevance than many employers might
think. This, at least, is my experience.
